I have been an elementary school teacher for the past 25 years. My specialty is helping each child experience the joy of learning while building the skills and understanding for a solid foundation of growth. I have a strong background in Multiple Intelligences, using each child's individual strengths to bridge gaps. For example, a strength in reading could be used to develop a strength in math.
A self- proclaimed life-long learner, I delight in sharing the joy of learning with my students through an integrated approach. I have been an elementary teacher for over 25 years. I have used guided reading approach and took a week long training course from Irene Fountas (of Fountas and Pinnel). I also worked closely with the reading specialist in my school to develop a strong reading program that promotes reading enjoyment, the craft of reading, and comprehension.
