My name is John D. and I'm 28 years old. I graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2008. I have been tutoring for ten years now. I worked as an assistant teacher at Wareham Cooperative High School for two years. Currently, I work at Fairhaven High School as a Paraprofessional.

I enjoy helping students learn math. It's rewarding. Besides tutoring, I enjoy playing basketball with my friends. I'm looking for tutoring hours during the evening except Mondays.

My approach is to see where the students need the most help and strengthen those weaknesses. I don't want the student to fall behind. I want the student to feel comfortable, and not discouraged. I want the students to feel that they have accomplished something.

I first started tutoring when I was attending Cape Cod Community College. I tutored in algebra and precalculus. When I transferred to UMass Dartmouth, I continued tutoring in math from algebra I to calculus. Right now I tutor in UMD Primes, a program for UMass Dartmouth on Mondays for Algebra I.

I connect with the students. I'm an experienced tutor. I love working with students who are willing to put in the time to learn. I have a strong understanding in math. I majored in math in college. I have been tutoring ever since I was in high school and it has been great.
