I am certified by Massachusetts General Hospital in Orton-Gillingham, the scientifically proven, individualized, multisensory approach to reading, writing, and spelling. Designed originally for people with dyslexia, anyone with difficulties in these areas can benefit from this phonics based approach.
I have tutored children of all ages and trained teachers in the O-G approach for over 11 years. My first love is working with children with reading difficulties and watching them go from tears of frustration and despair to smiles and confidence as they learn to read. The Orton-Gillingham approach uses the visual, auditory, and kinesthetic senses to introduce and reinforce learning. My goal is to reach each person through his strengths, strengthen the areas where he is weak, and to provide solid strategies to help him become an independent and enthusiastic reader.
