I lived with a French family for a year while taking courses at the University of Paris. I also studied in Grenoble, France during a summer. I love the French language and culture and tutoring. I was certified to teach French in Massachusetts in 1970 and was re-certified around 2006 by the Dept of Education of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. I taught middle school and high school students and I have tutored in the past.
I enjoy writing as a hobby. Many of my articles have been published in local newspapers over the years. Some of my topics were travel stories, movie critiques, restaurant reviews, events and how to prevent house fires. I enjoy poetry, novels and short stories from America and Great Britain. I love to show students how to simplify writing assignments. Vocabulary building is a painless process if you just read with a pen in hand and jot down new words. I was certified to teach English in 1970 and was re-certified around 2006. I have not renewed my certification after the expiration date. But I do love teaching and tutoring.
I successfully completed a college course in broadcasting.
I took journalism courses at Northern Essex Community College, Haverhill, MA.
I have published feature stories in a newspaper as a free-lance contributor.
