Having professional experience, a strong academic background, and a passion for teaching English, I believe I am an ideal candidate for an English tutoring position. I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Psychology, and I recently completed my student teaching at Melrose High School with my Masters degree in Secondary English Education. I am currently a substitute teacher at Melrose High School, and I have previously worked as a Special Education Program Assistant for the Methuen Public School system. I have my preliminary license to teach English for grades 5-12 and my initial license is pending.
I am skilled in providing guidance in the areas of reading and writing and I have implemented several different methods of teaching in my classroom as a way to help those students who may be struggling.
As I continue to work with students, my love for teaching continues to grow. My experience as a student teacher has taught me a lot about classroom management, while my coursework as a graduate student has given me experience with teaching strategies and planning lessons. I believe that teaching is something that requires a great deal of modification, as a way to individualize lessons to fit the needs of each student and I am prepared to utilize these skills in the classroom as a way to serve this very diverse population of learners.
Above all else, I believe that I have the motivational skills to help your child succeed. I am a very driven and patient person, and I am excited about the opportunity to work hard to make the upcoming academic year as successful as possible.
