For some students math is like a foreign language. They ask, "What do you mean X is a number? It's all Greek to me." I get that. For others, business and technology related concepts escape them. In my prior career I was often called upon to translate complex technical concepts into laymen's terms for a mass audience, or as I liked to say, "I speak Geek." You are likely seeking a tutor because either you are struggling to keep up or trying to get ahead. I can help with that.

I pride myself on having a high sense of empathy which allows me to understand and relate to the student’s perspective, identify any barriers to learning, and find ways to work around them. I look at not only the current lesson, but also help students to relate prior learned concepts to the current lesson and help them anticipate where the current lesson will be applied to future concepts.

For over 20 years I've effectively instructed and led people with Fortune 500 organizations Tiffany & Co., Verizon, and the Walt Disney Company. Now I’m pursuing a life’s ambition and have transitioned from the professional realm into public education. Over the past three years I've taught math and business classes with local school systems at both the high school and middle school levels and tutored math students as young as second grade. I hope to continue to teach and inspire others, as well as play a greater part in my local community along the way.

Start by figuring out how much work each crew can finish in one hour on their own (assuming a consistent level of work across the entire job).   So, if Crew 1 can finish 2,800 sq.ft. in 12 hours, they can finish 233 1/3 sq.ft. in one hour (2800/12).   And, if Crew 2 can...

To find equivalent fractions you can multiply both the numerator and denominator by the same number or divide them by the same number.   For example, multiplying 36 and 72 each by 2 you would get 72/ 144 dividing 36 and 72 each by 6 you would get 6/12 dividing 36 and 72...
