I am a minister in the United Church of Christ and I have broad knowledge Christian theology, world religions, religion in America, and philosophy. I am also a published author and can help with writing skills. My doctoral work was in family systems theory and psychology and could provide assistance in that area as well. As a public speaker I can coach you in speaking skills, platform presence, voice projection and delivery as well. My style is to get to know the student, where he or she would like assistance, and how they best learn. Through coaching, role playing and text book work, we find out the best way for you to master the material. I have worked with international students in an urban setting. I have two adopted Amerasian children who had learning disabilities, but who are very bright, so I understand and am patient with students struggling to master material. I have taught classes at the college and graduate level as well as led small groups so I am acquainted with diverse learning styles and approaches. My wife has a Ph.D. in American history and has taught at a variety of colleges and universities in the area, so I am well-acquainted with the resources available to students.
