I am a licensed English teacher, and last taught 7th grade English in New Hampshire, but I have been primarily a tutor for the last five years. I have tutored hundreds of students, helping them with standardized test preparation (SAT, ACT, SSAT, ICEE, CMT, MCAS, etc.), reading and writing skills, math (up to geometry) and homework help. I have taught English language learners in classes and individually, assisted adults in regaining skills lost since school.
In my experience, PATIENCE and HUMOR are the two most valuable things I can bring to a tutoring session; a student may be impressed by my knowledge, but will learn the knowledge himself when it is explained and practiced with patience and humor. I work with students of any age.
