Hi! My name is Brian, and I am a local college student here in Boston. My current major is political science, but I have always been passionate about writing. The art of communication is something that I hold sacred; the conveyance of a message in an artful and poetic manner is something that always captures my attention. I enjoy my role as a tutor because it allows me to use my passion and enthusiasm for the written word to help others. Although I have referred to writing as an "art," I also believe that elements of science are involved when creating a balanced and attractive sentence or verse, and this is one key way in which I help students in developing their own writing skills. I think many people get discouraged with writing because they feel that they " just don't have it," but with my students I find that in teaching about balance and symmetry within sentence structure, oftentimes they are more able to relate to the material, and improve overall writing grades.

Beyond my passion for writing, I thoroughly enjoy all forms of classic literature, and am fully capable of assisting students at the high school and collegiate level with all reading comprehension difficulties. I think that exploring a story in order to find the writer's deepest feelings and ideas can be an exciting albeit challenging process - and I enjoy rising to this challenge and meeting it head on!

I have tutored students for whom English is not their first language, and I have an extremely flexible schedule when it comes to scheduling appointments with students. I am in the Boston area, but I am willing to travel to surrounding areas for appointments with students, if necessary. Please, feel free - no, feel encouraged! - to contact me with any questions, to discuss educational or tutoring needs, or to schedule an appointment. I am always available for my students!
