Fluent in English and Portuguese, I was brought up in a bilingual environment in Sao Paulo, Brazil. I went to Brazilian schools and spoke English at home as my dad (American) and my mom (British descent) believed we should grow up speaking both languages. I've been teaching ESL since the age of 18 in language schools, and when my children were ready to go to school, I started teaching at an American School in Sao Paulo. After 16 years, I moved to the US and have been teaching in the Elementary Public Schools of Framingham, MA.
I am very active and believe, personally and professionally, that learning must be meaningful and fun, so my teaching style is dynamic and interactive. I use a lot of visuals, hands on activities and games, along with formal exercises and a lot of conversation. I am consistent and methodical and will work with the students towards their goals to learn the language.
