Though I was trained as a professional Engineer and a Project Manager, I am in love with my passion, my drive, my happiness and what I stand for. There comes a time in one`s life when you want to live for what makes you happy, what you love doing and not basically what gives you a big pay check. True to this principle, I decided some years back to return to my first love in life, Soccer. This I have done right from my youth. In Elementary school, and High School, I represented my childhood Street, the town and state of the country I grew up in, the college and graduate schools, I attended (while trying to fulfill my parents' dreams for me to become an Engineer) until now that I am a grown man. I have worked with kids and youths, in Africa, in Europe and also here in the United States, earning a lot of recognition and accolades, which include Certificates in 5 rights of Medication, CPR and others areas, of Sports from the Massachusetts Dept of Early Education and Care, in recognition of coaching, and with minors in this area of sports.
Because of my love for Soccer, I decided to abandon my career as a Civil Engineering Project Manager, just to dedicate myself to the growth of this beautiful game in the United States knowing that it is only a growing sport here. It needs, all the sacrifices, time, finances, skills and experience from human resources, to bring it up to the standard in other Countries of the world and to put the United States in its "Pace-setting" rightful place, which it holds in every other areas of life.
I belong to the early fundamental ornamentation coaching stages of this sport named in Europe as "CATCH THEM YOUNG".
This means finding or discovering rookies in this game at very early stages of their lives, ranging from the ages of 5 to 17, when one can bend, or instill the basic skills, knowledge and rules of the game, helping them grow with it and become part of their every day life, thereby making a big mark in the pool of many. This approach is better than teaching them when they are fully grown; when it becomes difficult or near impossible for students of this game to comprehend, thereby causing too many dropouts born out of frustration of feeling not good enough.
I was given a chance by someone many years ago, and I remember it as if it were yesterday. I regret one thing and that is studying Civil Engineering instead of following my head and going fully to a soccer academy, which in those days were nonexistent in my childhood country. In the United States kids are given all the encouragement to do what they are good at. At this stage and in my present naturalized country, which I swore to serve, I will leave no stone unturned in giving all my best to make soccer compete with other sports like Baseball, Basketball and Football in this Country.
I look forward to working with the Kids and Youths who wants to be the Thierry Henries (one of France`s biggest soccer stars, presently playing for New York Red Bulls) of the United States in years to come.
