ENGLISH: Reading, Writing, and Vocabulary:

I have an excellent command of the English language complete with sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, and style. I have the ability to help your student write a paper from concept to outline, to content to first draft, to editing to final draft. Working in steps -- and as a process -- your student will achieve their goals, working with a tutor who sees the student as an equal, both of us focused on a successful outcome. I am also excellent at assisting with reading comprehension and ESOL.

PIANO: Patient, experienced classical pianist seeks beginning students for piano, ear training, or music history.

As a graduate of the Longy School of Music (Cambridge, MA) and a student of piano at Oberlin Conservatory (Oberlin, OH), I would offer your student extensive experience. I have played the piano for over 40 years both as a soloist and as an accompanist. As a teacher, I would introduce your student to the basics of music theory and piano practice. Using materials I can provide, we would go over each lesson methodically until the information is clearly understood and internalized. I would emphasize your student's musicality and appreciation of listening to themselves play so they would be encouraged to practice and develop their ability. I can come to your house to teach and offer flexible day and evening hours.

ENGLISH: literature, reading, writing - grammar, proofreading, vocabulary, style

Excellent command of the English language: literature, reading comprehension and writing aptitude. I will help your student learn to write using proper sentence structure, grammar, vocabulary, and style. Working in steps -- and as a process -- your student will develop the ability to create a paper from concept to outline to content to first draft to editing to final form. Ideally, your student and I will work cooperatively as a team, both focused on a successful outcome. Able to interact with and challenge learners of all ages and abilities.

Piano

As a graduate of the Longy School of Music as well as Oberlin College and Conservatory, I would offer the student excellent technical skills together with an appreciation for musicality and listening. I am patient and thorough, encouraging the student to advance at his or her own pace; and instilling knowledge of the classical music repertoire.
