I have experience bringing passion for math to a wide range of ages and readiness levels. I have a Bachelors of Science in Mathematics and a Masters in Education from UMass Amherst. I hold my Initial License in Elementary Education as well as in Middle School Math. I have also passed the licensure test for the High School Math License.
While in my Masters program at UMass Amherst, I student taught in 4th grade part time and then 1st grade full time. After graduating from UMass Amherst with my Masters, I found a job in Westford as a Math Resource Facilitator. This gave me experience in classrooms from 3rd-5th grade with many different teachers, exposing me to different styles and classroom environments. I had a small caseload of students for whom I would provide in-class support. I would also run small groups in the classroom as needed. After my year in Westford, I accepted a job at the Lowell Community Charter Public School teaching 7th grade math. I taught to a wide variety of readiness levels and got the opportunity to push myself to implement many different teaching strategies in order to continuously engage the students. For the past few years, I have taught a math class for students preparing to take their high school equivalency test. I recently accepted a job as a Math Interventionist in Westford for grades K-2.
I look forward to every new experience with teaching math, whether tutoring or teaching. I love learning from my students and always improving upon my ability to reach every student in their own way.

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

Algebra 1

Algebra is one of my favorite areas of math. It is the foundation for almost all upper level math, and therefore very important to get a strong foundation in.

Elementary (K-6th)

My Masters degree was focused on Elementary Education, and I did my student teaching in a 1st grade and 4th grade classroom. I have tutoring experience with all elementary grades.
