My name is Julie and I'm a certified teacher in Elementary Education. I have been tutoring our three children in all areas of the curriculum and finding ways that make their varied ways of learning fun. Every child learns differently and I find when we discover her way of learning ~ the light goes on and confidence rises. In turn, we will foster that learning and encourage her to know the BEST way for her to learn a concept. The pressure lessens in a child when he knows HOW he can study his own personal best.
I've been teaching Sunday school for years. One of the biggest quests is how to make that learning fun and engaging. I spend time shaking it up by using a hands-on approach mixed with some drama, and group activities along with sit down work. I've found when we can get out of the "sit down" only approach to learning and change to it using all our senses, we tend to grasp a concept in a very positive way. We also tend to own our learning a bit more when we find a way that makes sense to us.
I hope to always find ways to help children learn and to foster their love for learning.
