I am currently working at Boston Apparel Company as a Sr. Desktop Artist in the Creative Services Department. I have been working on the Chadwicks catalog and collateral pieces while in this position. This position allowed me to use many programs such as Quark, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Many duties at this job have made me versatile in any design position. While in this position I have partnered with the VP of Creative Services, Creative Directors and Art Directors to assist all catalog and collateral design. I have also taken over the IT responsibility of all the Macs in Creative Services, such as program issues or computer related issues. I have gained the reputation as the go-to-guy for all programs and specifically InDesign. When the company made a decision to migrate all files from quark to InDesign, I was one of the few people that knew how to use InDesign. By training and helping my colleagues we were able to make a seamless switch between programs, and now all of creative services are up to speed on all the benefits of InDesign.
I have also worked at Pre-Press Company as a Preflight Operator. Pre-Press Company is a production house for a numerous amount of text book publishers. As a preflight operator, I ensured that the files were sent to the printer correctly, so that the book can be ripped without any problems. I used many programs on a Mac such as pitstop, acrobat, illustrator, photoshop, quark, indesign, and microsoft office.
Some of my strongest attributes are my love for design and that I am a hard worker. My time management skills are excellent. When working on a project I keep the due date in mind. This way the files are always on press without delay. I take pride in doing quality work and would not expect anything less from myself.
I graduated from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth with a degree in Graphic Design/Letterform. I learned a lot from the professors that I had. Now I want to be exposed to new ideas. Therefore, if I am hired I will try my best to be a valuable asset to your company. I will work hard and meet all goals set before me.
