I am a Mom to little ones I've taught to read. I love working with kids, and try to make reading fun for them. I will start with something simple and work on letters, sounds, sounding-out and go from there. I try to build kids' confidence which in itself is a great booster for reading.
I bring lots of patience and understanding to the table. I am a former software engineer who practices persistence along with kindness.
I have volunteer experience as follows:
9/2010 – 5/2011: Classroom Volunteer – Assisted all day kindergarten class in ‘centers’ concept helping with development of reading and other skills.
9/2010 – 6/2011: Classroom Volunteer – Assisted in kindergarten through fourth grades art class. Duties include assisting in class and helping with preparation for classes.
While working with your child, I will check for their comprehension, include writing practice.
My educational background is a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University in Technical Communications (Computer Science) with a 3.75 grade average. I also hold many computer programming certificates.
Kids will find me very easy to work with!
