Dyslexia
I have extensive experience with the Wilson Reading System. I learned to read using this system, and went on to tutor a number of students using the program. I worked at the Wilson Corporate Office, giving me even more exposure to the program and all it has to offer. My mother is also a reading specialist and has taught me quite a bit about the nuances of dyslexia.
Ear Training
During my time at Boston University's College of Fine Arts, Ear Training was a requirement for the entire four years of my program. We began with very basic intervals and tempos, and moved on to more complex, multi-tone challenges and conflicting rhythms. This is a challenging part of music training for many students, and, having been there, I can certainly relate and be of great assistance.
Elementary (K-6th)
I have experience tutoring elementary aged students in all subject areas. I also have experience in the Wilson Reading System and Fundations Program for those students needing help with reading/writing/comprehension.
English
I am very experienced in the Wilson Reading System. This is an Orton-Gillingham based phonics program that focuses on the structure of the English language, as opposed to memorizing words. This was how I learned to read, so I understand the program from the student's perspective. I have tutored a number of students using this program and it yields great results. For younger students, I can also teach using the Fundations program from Wilson.
General Music
I studied piano for about 10 years, and voice since I was 12 years old. I went on to pursue a Bachelor's in Voice Performance and earned my degree from Boston University in 2009. I have been involved in many types of music, from musical theater to opera and classical to country and folk.

Voice (Music)
I have an extensive background in music (I'm a graduate of Boston University's College of Fine Arts with a Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance). My knowledge of music and vocal pedagogy enables me not only to impart my knowledge of music theory and vocal technique, but also to understand the needs of singers and to truly know how it feels -- and how it SHOULD feel -- to sing! I have been privileged to work with some of the best teachers and coaches in the world, and would I love to pass their knowledge on to my students. I work with students of all ages and train using the classical technique. We would work on art songs in English and Italian to start, and would move forward from there to reach your desired goals. I can cater the lessons to suit the needs and wants of my students. We can work on language pronunciation, theory, sight reading, rhythmic training, and so much more. Most of all, I just want you to be the best singer you can be!
Yoga
When I first began practicing yoga I was extremely overwhelmed by all the poses. I was scared to attend a class because I knew I would be lost the whole time! After years of practice I can now confidently attend classes and perform many of the complicated poses I never thought possible. What I would like to do for you is to get you comfortable with all the basic poses you would encounter in a typical yoga class, so that you can head to the studio confidently and calmly. Your practice should be a time of meditation and reflection, not of anxiety and fear. I can help you get to that point so that yoga can be all that you want it to be for you.
