My background in working with children includes tutoring 3rd & 4th grade math and general homework help, age appropriate current event reports, as well as science projects. I have also volunteered in elementary aged arts & crafts for special needs children.
I have several years of experience teaching tennis and downhill skiing to 4-10 year olds.
Being the aunt of five wonderful nieces and nephews ranging from 5-14 years old, many a time I have included holiday crafts, art projects, and games to enhance creative thinking, and of course with laughs and smiles.
My tutoring method is to accomplish the task(s) at hand, while instilling confidence and a love of learning in the student.
I feel staying on track as well as encouragement and having a light sense of humor helps build the child's enjoyment of the subject as well a student/tutor connection.
