My undergraduate studies have provided me with the skills and requirements to teach at the secondary level, both in middle school and high school. As of February, I have met all of the requirements and have earned my 5-12 Initial License to teach English Language Arts. My four years of college have provided me with the information about the English Language Arts curriculum, lesson planning, unit planning, classroom management, and current theories and practices of education that have given me the inspiration to teach diverse students to read well, write well, and to think independently. My previous experience with student teaching, retail sales associate positions, and an internship have given me the opportunity to work individually as a teacher to problem solve as well as work on a team of teachers with diverse experience. I believe this has made me a well-rounded person who is a good listener and sympathetic to the needs of individuals. I hope to take what I have learned from past experience, in both education and non-education positions, and bring it into my teaching or fields related to teaching. As far as my experience with tutoring goes, I spent two years at my college tutoring students of all skill levels in undergraduate coursework, including proofreading papers, analyzing literature, and helping to outline papers. Over the past 4+ years of taking undergraduate coursework related to education, I have learned that my favorite part of the job is working with individual students. I feel as if I am very empathetic, a great listener, and will try my best to help you or your children achieve not only a good grade, but a sense of accomplishment and something of which to be proud. Thank you very much for reviewing my profile and I hope to meet your English tutoring needs very soon!
