I adhere to a simple study method that if one knows HOW to study then any subject can be learned by anyone. Not only do I tutor in the specific subjects and promise results. I will set the foundation of effective and efficient study habits. These study habits will help with elementary education through to college. Everyone learns best in one of three processes; Reading, Listening and Writing. Once the best way is discovered the student's study strategy is customized to fit their specific way of learning. The study method will focus on the way the student learns best but without disregarding the other two processes. This personalized system lessens the time needed to finish homework and study for tests.
I am currently in the process of receiving my certification in elementary education from Massachusetts. I tutored the special needs students at North Shore Community College when I was enrolled. This experience taught my two important lessons. One is that anyone can learn to study effectively, no matter their handicap or age. Two is the lack of understanding the best process which they learn (it’s not their fault it's the job of educators, like me!). I look forward to seeing the new connections of learning in the eyes of my students.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

American History

One of my loves in life is history and especially American History. I have taken many courses from AP American History and AP American Government in high school. In college I focused on early American history and politics. I believe in a neutral view to our past. This makes it easier to focus on personal stories about experiences with the history we can only read about from historians.

Baseball

Before I can remember I was playing baseball. I never stopped playing. I have umpired for over 5 years and have a great understanding of the rules of baseball. I can help with beginner skills in hitting, fielding and base running. I have a deep respect of the game and its traditions that I will hopefully pass on to another generation.

Study Skills
