I am a Massachusetts state certified high school/ middle school math teacher. I also have a degree in business management/ accounting from the University of Massachusetts - Boston. I am available nights or weekends to tutor you in any of my areas of expertise.

It's so easy for people to just say "I'm no good at math," or "Numbers aren't my thing." I may be a bit of a nerd for feeling this way, but math is fun when you understand it. There is nothing better than taking a complex idea, breaking it down to its simplest form, and then having that light bulb moment where it all makes sense. I'd love the opportunity to help students one-on-one to have that moment, that feeling of accomplishment that comes from understanding something that they thought was beyond them. Thank you!

Microsoft Excel

Although I am not a computer person by trade, I work with Microsoft Excel every day of my professional life. I understand how to take raw data, format it so that it is easier to read, and then analyze the data using the tools that Excel offers. I can show you everything from basic functions to more complex pivot tables.

Accounting

I have a Bachelor's degree in Accounting and Business Management from UMass Boston. I have been an accountant for 5 years, working for a Big 4 accounting firm as well as private sector companies. I have taken Financial, Managerial, Cost and Advanced Accounting classes as part of my college coursework. I have also taken part in many days of professional trainings on accounting and tax.

Elementary Math

During my time as a student teacher, I spent a lot of time helping my 5th graders with their math questions. At the elementary level, it's really about making math fun and relatable. My first tutoring experience was at the neighborhood study center. I was able to help a second grader grasp basic Algebra so they could solve an equation for a single unknown.

Business

I have a bachelor's degree from the University of Massachusetts - Boston in Business Management and Accounting. I have taken coursework in business organizations, business law, ethics, and economics.

Tax Preparation

I have been a tax accountant for five years. I have prepared tax returns for individuals, partnerships, corporations, trusts, and tax exempt organizations. I have prepared federal and state returns, as well as the supporting calculations. I worked in the tax department for a Big 4 accounting firm and a Fortune 500 corporation.
