I work as a para-professional for a collaborative for special needs children and I also work in a residence for Autistic children. I have a Bachelors with a double major in both the Classics and Political Science and I am starting my Masters in Special Education in August. I have a passion for Math, English, Special Education, History, and anything else that lets my mind grow.
I have also volunteered at the Mansfield Animal Shelter where I have been put in charge of handling stray and abandoned dogs. Through this I have seen the slow progress from dogs coming into the shelter, afraid and unpredictable, turn into loving and good-natured animals ready for a new home. The lesson to be learned from my work with animals is that I strongly believe that anything is achievable with perseverance and hard work (despite what the situation may look like), and this is what I would strive to instill in my students.
I want to be able to teach children in both the academic field as well as help them grow socially and become thriving members in the community.
