Greetings. I have worked in the school system as a teacher, instructional support personnel, and reading tutor for the past 10 years. As a reading tutor, my expertise includes, but not limited to, systematic, explicit, multisensory instruction for reading and spelling. I found my calling later in life after being a stay-at-home mother. While working as an instructional support personnel, I went to college to attain my bachelor’s degree in Special Education with minor in English over a span of 5 years. I am now in the process of ascertaining a Language and Literacy Degree from Simmons College with licensure for Reading Specialist. I have tutored students from 5yrs old to adults in reading. My certifications include Wilson Reading Level 1, Wilson Fundations K-3, and Phonemic Awareness with Beginning Orton-Gillingham. I believe including technology is a key component that benefits the student's learning growth. My passion for teaching reading comes from a strong family background with dyslexia. I have 10 years of experience with elementary curriculum within inclusion classrooms and small group pull-out setting. I have a Massachusetts Licensure in Elementary Education Grades 1-6, as well as, Massachusetts Licensure in Special Education PreK-8.
