I think today's generation of students are a different set of learners. They must deal with a host of new interruptions like Facebook, Twitter, XBOX, streaming, texting, etc. Teaching them the core skills of solid study habits, time management skills, etc. is as important as the subject matter they are studying.
I am a former Bentley College professor in computer sciences. I am currently planning on returning to Merrimack College starting in the fall. I have also taught adult education for a number of years.
I carry undergraduate degrees from Boston University in Mathematics and Computer Sciences. I have an MBA degree from Northeastern University with concentration in finance and international business. I have excellent communication skills, love to write and am an expert in public speaking having spoken to groups as large as 1200 people.
I worked for Bill Gates and Microsoft for 17 years (that is him and I in the picture above out for dinner).
Besides teaching and my computer background I have managed middle school and high school community basketball teams so have a solid background in dealing with young people.
