I am a retired Boston Business School prof with Wall Street Investment Banking experience. I have taught MBA level courses in: Microeconomics (Core MBA course), Futures and Options (Hull Book), Investment Management, and Fixed Income Analysis. I have first-hand experience valuing and structuring venture capital and private equity transactions. Hence, I can tutor on a variety of valuation models: venture capital, project finance, mergers & acquisitions, and restructurings. Also, I possess a solid knowledge of Hedge Fund Strategies and, more generally, Alternative Investments.

My key pedagogical strength is to use graphical methods to develop the intuition/reasoning underlying solution to microeconomic problems.
That said, the key to doing very well in a microeconomics course is to solve problems. Reading and understanding the concepts is Necessary by NOT Sufficient for doing well on exams. In sum, microeconomics is a great course for learning how to become a quantitative analyst/problem solver in any discipline, especially Finance/Asset Management!

Finance

Having solved "real world" financial problems as a Wall Street product developer (VP-Chase Manhattan Bank)and international development finance consultant (Saudi Arabia, Nepal, Indonesia, Nigeria), I can impart to students a strong motivation for learning the material. Finance is one field where (for the most part) classroom concepts and theories are immediately applicable in the real world. Hence, my delight in teaching the subject.
