I am currently a Junior in the honors program at Boston College. My major is Classics and I am in the pre-medical program. In the summers following my junior, senior and college freshman academic years I worked at an academic enrichment camp in Brookline teaching Creative Writing. Latin, and French. The age of the campers I was teaching ranged from 10 years old to 18 years old. I also tutored an 8th grader in Latin and History during my sophomore year of college. She was struggling in Latin grammar and in her study skills. She finished out the school year with improved grades and an improved understanding of the language, and her own abilities in preparing for testing situations. I have a passion for getting students excited about the subject at hand and in turn helping them succeed in gaining confidence in their academic abilities. I am a big supporter of flash cards and interactive learning methods. I consider myself an upbeat and friendly person and have never not got along with the students I tutor. I approach learning as something fun and try to instill that attitude in my students.
As for my background in the above subjects I have been taking Latin for 10 years and have taken AP Biology as well as multiple biology courses in college. I have taken both the Latin and Biology SATIIs scoring a 710 and a 720 respectively. My verbal SAT score was a 750 and my writing SAT was a 730.
