After a positive career in industry followed by a number of gratifying years raising three children of my own and then recently returning to employment in higher education administration I am transitioning into teaching. My knowledge and understanding of science, a variety of teaching and life experiences and my recent coursework in curriculum and instruction strategies adds to my desire and skills to help students learn. For the past three years I worked with graduate science students mentoring and guiding them to prepare for their professional internship experiences and future jobs.
I obtained my license from MA DESE in Middle School Mathematics/Science and am preparing to take the MTEL Chemistry to be licensed to teach high school chemistry. My flexible schedule allows me to substitute teach and tutor.
I have worked as a volunteer tutor for middle and high school students and have provided hours of support for my own children in their elementary, middle and high school math and science as well as English and social studies courses. Additionally, I have been a substitute teacher at the middle and high school level. I am trained as a chemical engineer and have a firm grasp of algebra, geometry, physical science, and chemistry concepts as well as test taking strategies including SAT.
