I am a recent Merrimack College graduate with a dual degree in English and Secondary Education. Throughout my college career I have had much experience working with many different types of students and learning the ways in which students can be helped within my subject area. As a tutor I take the approach that each student learns in a different way so I need to assess what is the best possible method for the student to learn the material. Some students are going to learn best with visuals, others learn from writing things down, and many students retain information from oral techniques such reading out loud or repeating the information over as well as listening to someone say it to them. As a tutor I believe it is my job to determine what mix of techniques will bring the best results for your student. I also want your student to be able to learn different techniques they can use independently. I am qualified to tutor students in many different areas of English including reading/comprehension, spelling, grammar, vocabulary, writing, SATs, ACTs, MCAS, and any type of college essay writing. I truly enjoy working with students and helping them to become better students in any way possible. It is my belief that all students should be able to succeed in school and even enjoy what they are doing and it is my goal through my tutoring sessions to develop students' skills in English so that they can improve and not be burdened by any struggles they are up against.
