Hi,

If you are in search of a preeminent tutor then you have reached the right person. I have a teaching experience of more than 5 years in math to students of various grades (K-12th). I have also tutored students preparing for SAT/ACT, GRE, SSAT etc and have had great results. Many of my students have increased their scores by more than 40% in their exams.

I believe that solving a problem isn't the only goal but understanding the concept behind that is very important. If the basics of any student is well built up then he can grasp anything easily and wouldn't be afraid even if he sees a totally unknown problem in front of him. He will always have the courage to try. So making the student believe that what he is facing isn't a problem but a challenge makes the problem look much easier and changes the entire perspective of that student towards that subject.

I am a young, enthusiastic, friendly person on whom you can completely rely and I can assure you that the future of you or your child is in the best hands.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

While teaching the SAT/GRE to some students I used to continuously guide them as to which university should they apply and help them with their essays and applications. Also I helped them to choose their interested discipline and make them aware about the opportunities and shortcomings of different universities. I recently was admitted to Northeastern University so I am familiar with the process of applying and what different colleges demand. I basically believe that there are 5 basic points which I wish to use while counselling prospective students.
1) Share information on a wide range of colleges and graduate programs.
2) Help coordinate college tours, college selection and college applications and also take into consideration family restrictions and the parents' worries.
3) Communicate facts and information clearly on what it takes for admission into the world’s most competitive schools.
4) Inform about various sources of funding.
5) Give personalized, one-on-one consulting time focused on the student’s individual goals and his personal interest.

Differential Equations

I cleared the IIT-JEE and the BITSAT (359/450- rank <700 out of 300000 candidates) considered to be one of the toughest entrance examinations in the world. It had a complete syllabus of calculus starting from basics to the most advanced level of engineering. So I am quite proficient in differential equations.

Discrete Math

Math has been an integral part of my career in engineering as well. I studied till my bachelor's degree in India where the level of math is quite competent as compared to other places and I have passed with A grade through out my school life. So discrete math is one of the basis on which a majority of the topics of maths are based and I think I have a quite good knowledge and understanding of it.

Elementary (K-6th)

I am currently tutoring 6 students in the elementary subjects of science, math and english. I also have an experience of more than 5 years in teaching students of this age which gives me an edge over others. I know that students of this age require special skills and I have been able to help students because of which all of my students so far are passing with flying colors. This students are beginners and they require a completely different methodology of teaching.

Sincerely

Hindi

I am born and brought up in India where Hindi is one of the primary language of communication among people from different states with their own language. So Hindi has been an integral part of my life. I recently was admitted to Northeastern University.

Linear Algebra

I have taught students of all grades from 1st to 10th during my vacations. Also I used to teach maths at one of the GRE/SAT coaching classes for about 2 months which gave me high proficiency in Linear Algebra. Also I scored 99/100 in my 10th grade which consisted of many topics in linear algebra.

Logic

I took the Common Admission Test (CAT) similar to the GMAT which gives admission to the prestigious Indian Institute of Management and scored 94 percentile in it. The maths version consists of a logic section in which I scored more than 90 percentile.

Public Speaking

Sir/Ma'am,
I have been an excellent orator throughout my student life. I have won various competition starting from inter-school to inter state competitions. Speaking with confidence is a major part of public speaking and judging the people's feedback is also very important and I think I can very well do that due to my varied experience. I have been the secretary of various departments and clubs, which need people of different backgrounds to be addressed on the spot and I think I have successfully led the entire student community. I hope you will give me this opportunity.

Study Skills

Sir/Ma'am,
I cleared the Joint Entrance Examination and the Common Admission Test considered as one of the toughest exams in the world. I scored 317 in my GRE and I think that I have a quite standardized method for studying. Studying daily and revising regularly is very important. Also continuous evaluation of the studied subject is very important. Making a schedule can help a lot in properly organizing our time. I have learned all this through my experience and I think that I can do well in guiding students. I hope you will give me this opportunity.

Trigonometry

Trigonometry seems to be difficult but is not. People don't like it because it seems to be difficult but in reality it is one of the most easiest and the most conceptual subject of Math. Once one knows the basis ratios then whole of the trigonometry revolves around it. Trigonometry is also one of the most important subject for calculus and also in everyday life. While doing everyday business we unknowingly make use of it in a large extent so just imagine what we could do if we applied the concepts practically in a systematic manner.

124=x-(-34) (answer)

Just know the basic formulas (-1)*(-1)=1 , (1)*(-1)=-1, (1)*(1)=1. Also (-x)= -1*x. When you move any value from LHS to RHS or vice versa then it changes it's sign, means -ve becomes +ve and +ve becomes -ve. Apply this concept and you will get the answer.

This is the most simplest answer without getting to much into the mathematical details. Assume g(x)=y.  Then start putting the different values of x= -1,0,1 and get values of y. Similarly put y=-1,0,1 and get values of x. You will be then able to compare the graph with the options.
