I graduated with Honors and Distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a bachelors of science in public health and a bachelors of arts in global studies in 2012. During my undergraduate years, I won many awards for my academic excellence, perseverance and for my research skills and served as an Adult ESL tutor for three years. In high school, I completed the rigorous International Baccalaureate program (IB), graduating at the top 1% of my class. However, I also took various AP-level exams, and was identified as an AP Scholar with Honors because of my high scores.
Throughout high school, I volunteered as a writing and English tutor, and in college, I served as a mentor with a high school student over three years to ensure their admittance to college (with a scholarship!!) and have extensive experience in all steps of application processes - whether that be career strategy, resumes, personal statement, recommendations and interviewing. I also served as an English teacher in Costa Rica and Turkey for kids aged 5-15.
I have studied abroad in Hanoi, Vietnam and completed my practicum in Bangladesh, run in my spare time, and was raised in a Turkish household.
I am a patient, kind and effective communicator. As we start our tutoring relationship, I will be confidence-bulding and enthusiastic. I promise to customize my lessons to YOUR individual values and needs, develop your strengths and contextualize your weaknesses, provide constructive and constant feedback, to help you achieve your goals!
