Hi all,
As a student for many years, I came to see firsthand how challenging and stressful school can be. I also came to realize how important good teaching is. My tutoring approach is tailored to help each student achieve the results she or he wants -- whether a better grade, a higher test score, or admission to a dream school. I tutor in a variety of subject areas -- including American and world history, government, and politics, as well as English grammar, reading, and writing. I specialize in the history and politics of the United States, Europe, and the Middle East, and in expository and persuasive writing.
I graduated in May 2012 with a Master’s degree from the Political Science Department of Boston College, having also received my undergraduate degree from BC, cum laude (3.77 GPA), in 2010. Through wide-ranging coursework, independent research and writing, and several academic positions in multiple fields, I developed the knowledge and the teaching skills that today allow me to tutor with creativity, dedication, and a focus on RESULTS. I have worked with many Boston College students one-on-one, and I have graded hundreds of student essays, exams, and research papers. I have also written two theses, totaling a combined 240 pages, and presented at student and professional conferences, most recently at Columbia University. I know what it takes to do well in school, and I hope very much to work with you or your student soon.
Best wishes,
Isaiah S.
