I am a Mechanical EIT with over eight years of experience as a private tutor. I specialize in engineering subjects such as structural analysis, dynamics, and fluid mechanics. I also tutor the mathematics needed to understand finite element methods.

My tutoring style varies from student to student, depending on what works for each individual. In general, I try to make the best of your time. This means that I focus more on concepts that are crucial to your success. My lessons are broken into parts that are easy to understand; together, these parts communicate complex ideas.

I can provide a quiet study room equipped with whiteboards for tutoring; this location is near the Kendall/MIT red line stop. I am also available for online tutoring.

I frequently tutor calculus, and I have studied it from many angles. In high school, I scored 5/5 on both AP Calculus AB and BC examinations. At MIT, I aced multivariable calculus. I have also taken mathematical analysis, and it has given me insight into the theoretical development of calculus.

Electrical Engineering

I have much experience working with electronics and teaching circuits. I have designed circuits for school projects and for my professional work, built my own loudspeaker crossovers, and upgraded the wiring in my vintage car. I have also taught Maxwell's equations, Kirchoff's laws, Thevenin and Norton equivalents, capacitors, diodes, and ideal op-amps. My approach is hands-on; students are encouraged to use my breadboard, meters, signal generator and parts to build and test their own circuits.

Linear Algebra

I took linear algebra at MIT, and the concepts I learned reappeared ubiquitously throughout my engineering coursework. I taught an informal introduction to linear algebra class and also have experience tutoring undergraduate-level linear algebra.

Mechanical Engineering

I am a certified mechanical EIT in MA. The certification process involves passing the FE, an eight hour exam that tests competency in mechanical engineering topics such as statics, dynamics, vibrations, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials.
