I have just graduated from the University of Rochester with Bachelors of Science degrees in Mathematics and Physics. I believe my rigorous academics in math and physics, in addition to teaching experience make me an ideal candidate as a tutor. Due to my background in Mathematics and Physics, I would be very capable of tutoring any course.
I have had experience teaching at a wide range of levels: from preschoolers to preteen and young teenagers, to college aged individuals. Through serving as a Teaching Assistant, I have learned to communicate various topics to a large range of ages and levels of schooling. In terms of holding a pupil's attention, I have realized that enthusiasm is catching and once I show my student how exciting the material can be, more often than not, I can elevate his or her energy as well. In addition, I have seen that I can prove to my students that I am knowledgeable in the material.
I have scored an 800 on the math portion of my SATs and received a 680 in reading. I have taken 6 AP classes in High School and scored 4's and 5's in all of them. Here is a list of the AP classes I have taken:
Physics C
Chemistry
Biology
Calculus BC
English and Composition
English and Literature
I have also tutored college students in math and physics. Here is a list of courses that I have taken in college:
Real Analysis
Complex Analysis
Algebra (Group Theory)
Topology
Number Theory
Cryptography
Geometry
Classical Mechanics
Electricity and Magnetism I&II
Thermodynamics&Statistics
3 classes in Quantum Mechanics
I have TA'd for CTY for 3 summers, a combined total of 75 students and loved the experience. I wish to share that enthusiasm with all the students that I will tutor.
