I have two graduate degrees from Harvard, have served on an admissions committee, and have led seminars and study groups in the co-curricular program at the Harvard Kennedy School. My areas of specialization are critical reading, writing skills, SAT and MCAT verbal preparation, and admissions essays. I have been tutoring for ten years and have won a Harvard Club award for teaching and public service in addition to two other teaching awards.
I am dedicated to my students' success. Students who can commit to a twelve to sixteen week program of rigorous training in critical reading and writing usually score above 700 on the verbal section of the SAT and a 10 or above on the verbal portion of the MCAT. Like anything worthwhile, it takes focus and hard work, but a significant improvement in verbal skills is available when there is a combination of hard work and skillful teaching.
I take this work very seriously because it has lifetime consequences for students and my record speaks for itself in student evaluations. I enjoy working with students who are committed to their futures and my greatest reward is seeing their success.
