ADD/ADHD

I am a certified reading specialist with training in the Orton-Gillingham and Wilson reading methods targeted in teaching children with dyslexia and other learning challenges how to read. I also worked in a school for children with learning challenges and alternative learning styles for 19 years teaching in a transitional kindergarten/first grade classroom teaching all subjects to provide a solid foundation of education.

Dyslexia

I hold a certification in the Orton Gillingham and Wilson reading methods which are designed to teach dyslexic children how to read. I have 20 plus years working with children with reading challenges teaching reading, writing, vocabulary, and spelling, with huge success rates in helping children to process information that leads to success in language arts.

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught Kindergarten and first grade for over 30 years in private schools. I have also been a tutor, science teacher and art teacher. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education with a concentration as a Reading Specialist. I am certified through the Department of Education in the State of Massachusetts for PreK-grade 2.

Phonics

I am a certified PreK to 2 teacher in the state of Massachusetts with a specialization in reading. I also have graduate coursework in reading and teaching reading skills to struggling readers. I have experience teaching the Orton-Gillingham method which strongly emphasizes phonetics along with other ways to help children become successful readers. I was also a kindergarten teacher for 17 years and a preK teacher for 13, and taught all of those children how to read using phonics as a foundation

Reading

I am a certified reading specialist with training in Orton-Gillingham and Wilson reading methodology. I have taught reading and related language arts skills to children as young as 3 up to adulthood with 100% success rate! I develop a program that is individualized to address the learning style of each student to make learning to read fun, interactive and effective.

Special Needs
