ADD/ADHD

I have taught in inclusive classrooms since October 2000. I have taught students who have ADD and ADHD each year. I've attended many workshops and seminars to learn how to best educate students who have ADD and ADHD. I have much experience with IEPs and 504s.

Aspergers

In my 13 years of teaching, I have had numerous trainings to successfully teach an inclusive classroom. Many children I have taught throughout these years have had Asperger's. Through mandatory seminar completions and years of my teaching responsibilities, my experiences working with children who have Asperger's has been fantastic and rewarding.

Autism

In my 13 years of teaching, I have had numerous trainings to successfully teach an inclusive classroom. Many children I have taught throughout these years have had autism. Through mandatory seminar completions and years of my teaching responsibilities, my experiences working with children who are autistic have been fantastic and rewarding.

Dyslexia

I've taught for the past 13 years. Throughout my 13 year career, I've had to attend many workshops, seminars, and trainings about dyslexia, to best teach my students who have dyslexia. I've successfully taught many children who have dyslexia.

Elementary (K-6th)

I hold certification in elementary education grades K-6. I taught grades 3-5 math and science for 3 years. I taught 6th grade language arts for 1 year. I taught 5th grade social studies for 1 year. I have tutored in the preceding content areas for the past 13 years.

Elementary Math

I'm a certified elementary school and middle school endorsed teacher specializing in Gifted and Talented and mathematics education. I have 13 years' experience teaching math, science, and enrichment to children in grades 3 through 8, and I've been a private tutor since 2000.

ISEE

Teaching in an IB magnet middle school for 2 years and teaching in affluent communities where my middle school children attend private schools has provided me with much independent school entrance exam experience. I have helped prepare many students for the ISEE both in and out of the classroom. I am quite comfortable with both the lower and upper school exam content.

Nutrition

I taught nutrition at the 7th and 8th grade levels for four years. Additionally, I taught nutrition units in my science classes for 10 years. I feel very well educated to successfully teach nutrition.

Study Skills

For two years I taught social skills and work habits, a course that included teaching study skills. Also, I've had to teach many study skills while teaching to my elementary classes. Each of my 13 teaching years has included teaching study skills. These skills are essential for students' academic success.
