I have been living in Boston for almost seven years. I am originally from Maine and went to college in Ohio. I love to travel and learn about other cultures. For that reason I love working with international students and kids and adults who are passionate about other cultures too. I can speak some French and Spanish. This summer I completed an immersion program in Spanish at Middlebury College and had a blast. I would love to meet some native Spanish speakers in the Boston area. I have a lot of experience with ESL, as I received a Master's in teaching it from Simmons College. However, I much prefer tutoring over formal classes. I also really enjoy helping people with writing and would be happy to go over essays for school. Although most of my recent experience is with adolescents and young adults, I enjoy working with young children also. I have a niece and nephew who are three and five, and I was also a mentor to two children in Roxbury. While in college, I tutored at a local elementary school. I am eager to help anyone who has the curiosity to learn! I am especially interested in language learning, as I understand the challenges associated with this.
