I am a former middle and high school English teacher. I am a graduate of Brookline High School, have an BA in Religious Studies, an MA in Eastern Classics, and an MA in Curriculum and Instruction. In addition to all facets of reading and writing, I possess good techniques for tutoring elementary and middle school level mathematics and SAT test preparation. I believe that in order for learning to be genuine and lasting a student must be engaged with his/her subject and his teacher, if he has one, which is why I bring a lot of energy and humor to my work, teach topics from different angles in different ways, and create fun learning activities. I believe that the more difficult tasks appear to be games the better we do at them. I genuinely care for the success of all my students, and I am also happy to tutor parents on techniques they can use to help their children with schoolwork.
