I have enjoyed tutoring since I was in high school, when I was in the tutoring squad. I became a teacher with New York certification in Spanish. In seven years I have taught Spanish to students in college, special education, and honors programs. I believe that the teacher must understand the student's talents and needs and adjust instruction in as personalized way as possible. My favorite part of teaching was always the individualized and personalized interaction with different students in a way that incorporated their personalities and learning styles with a variety of materials and presentations. I have left the classroom and have begun pursuing theology, but I still love tutoring and languages. I prefer the one-on-one individualized attention over the classroom dynamic, but the classroom has really helped me to understand how diverse the phenomenon of learning is. I love learning new things, as well. I have finished my PhD coursework in Hispanic linguistics.
