My name is Tatiana, and I am a middle and high school level math tutor. I can help kids with day-to-day math problems as well as help students prepare for next-level math courses whether it’s going to be high school or college coursework. I will help students prepare for the SAT’s and prosper in the near future.
I received my bachelor's of science degree in engineering from Saint-Petersburg State University of information technologies, mechanics and optics in Russia. After relocating to the United States, I continued my education and earned my master's of education degree with a concentration in mathematics from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Also, I have an active educator’s license in mathematics for 5-8 and 9-12 grades.
For the past five years I have worked at the Rindge Avenue Upper School and Maria L. Baldwin School in Cambridge. In the past two years, I have started a private in-home tutoring program with a very flexible schedule and option of meeting the child at the location convenient for him or her.
I always feel great when I teach and see my students really learning and making noticeable progress. I have a large collection of postcards from my students saying “thank you” for helping them get where they are now, and I value this collection very much.
My favorite hobbies are reading, fine arts, traveling, and swimming. I like learning more and more in education and mathematics. A workshop about positive tutoring I attended last year was lots of fun!
