A pretty fair writer once related that "the pen is mightier than the sword". Being able to communicate through the written word effectively, efficiently, creatively and if the writer so chooses, passionately, is a powerful talent that a person can utilize in any corner of the world, every day of his or her life. The horizons are endless and encompass academic performance at every level of school, subject testing, standardized testing, college and grad school applications, job applications, the business world and relationships of every kind and level. The writer known for that mightier than the sword quote was known for a few other things and writings as well. His name of course,is William Shakespeare.
While earning my undergraduate degree at Boston College and subsequently earning my doctorate degree in graduate school, and later in the business world, I observed many times the discomfort, lack of confidence, reluctance and even anxiety brought on by the need to write a memo, an e-mail, a term paper, a letter or any piece of writing which required applying pen to paper or fingers to a keyboard. A wide spectrum of people spanning the president of a large corporation, to students I have helped with their college application essays, to business peers to personal friends have told me that I am blessed with the gift of being the best writer they have known.
Through mentoring you and/or proofreading the process of adapting you to the mighty powers of writing, I will help you develop your own style. More importantly this process will transform your discomfort, reluctance and anxiety to a confidence in using the power of your writing in a myriad of ways whether it be objectively obtaining a better grade or an acceptance to an application or subjectively capturing the passions of your feelings and life moments.
