My name is Luisa. I have been tutoring in several different subjects and with students of all ages full-time for the last four years. Throughout my time in university, I participated in the literacy program Jumpstart, helping children improve their reading skills. I taught ESL, TOEFl Prep, Reading, Writing, Pronunciation, Grammar and other language skills. I currently tutor students who need help with their homework in general or are testing in areas such as ISEE SSAT, SAT, TOEFL, etc. I speak two languages fluently and love learning bits of others as I travel the world!

I am a native Spanish and English speaker in the Boston area. I have tutored Spanish students in Asia and am currently tutoring students in Boston. My students vary in age and my goal is to create a study plan/strategy that best fits each individual student to enhance the specific skills they need to improve in the language overall.

I am TEFL certified and have been teaching phonics for the past 4 years abroad and here in the USA.

Study Skills

As a previous teacher and current tutor, I often work with students who are in need of improving and organizing their study skills and would like to be able to help others. I think it's an essential skill for students to have in order to do their work more efficiently and in a timely fashion.
