I am a PhD student at Boston University in socio-cultural anthropology. I obtained my MA in anthropology from Louisiana State University in 2008 with a 4.0 GPA. I was a teaching assistant at LSU during my masters program and I held office hours weekly in order to meet with students and help them understand the course, write papers, and go over their notes. I love teaching about religion and anthropology and will pass on that passion to students that I tutor.

Anthropology

I have a MA from Louisiana State University in cultural anthropology and I am currently working towards my PhD in anthropology at Boston University.

I have taught introduction to cultural anthropology at BU MET College.

I have been a teaching assistant & taught sections for: cultural anthropology, intro to physical/biological anthropology, sex & gender, and ethnographic methods.

Religion

I have spent 6 years studying other cultures and religions on a college level. In 2004, I graduated from Louisiana State University with a BA in anthropology and a minor in religion. My overall GPA was a 3.73 and my GPA in my religion courses was a 4.0.

In 2006, I went back to Louisiana State University in order to obtain my MA in anthropology. I graduated in May of 2008 with a 4.0 GPA. My thesis was on modern Vodou (AKA Voodoo) practices in New Orleans.

When I begin the anthropology PhD program at Boston University in the fall, I hope to continue my studies on religion, sacred spaces, and transcendent experiences.

In addition to these qualifications, I was a teaching assistant at LSU during my masters program. Each week I held office hours to meet with students in order to review lessons, explain the course, assist with papers, and give advice. I love teaching about other cultures and religions and I will pass this passion on to the students I tutor.
