My name is Christian, and I'm a graduate of fine arts from Northeastern University, class of 2012. Since I was able to pick up a crayon, creating artwork that engages and makes others happy has been my number one passion in life. I started out with the dream of becoming an animator, and later found my niche within descriptive visual storytelling; Specifically in illustration, photography, and video production. Now that I'm done with school (for the time being), I'd love the opportunity to share my passion with anyone who has a budding interest in visual arts. I work in several mediums, including digital drawing and graphic design, traditional pencil-and-ink illustration, macro photography, digital film, painting, charcoal, and even the odd collage.
During my time at Northeastern, I participated in four six-month long internships: Three through the university's integrated co-op program, and one while on a semester-long break from classes. The first was with Walt Disney Co. while I was pursuing my interest in animation, and the last three all as a video production technician in Reebok's marketing division, based out of the company's headquarters in Canton, MA. I also spent a month in Ireland's Burren region in a study abroad artist residency program in the summer of 2011. All good artists should be endlessly inquisitive and willing to undertake as many varying experiences as life will allow.
I believe an open mind and a good sense of humor are the most important traits an aspiring artist can have. With a focus on fundamentals, one eye on the history and development of art through the ages, and the other eagerly trained on the future, I hope to pass on some of the knowledge and insight I've gained over the years of doodling, scribbling, filming, and dreaming about creating imagery that folks will enjoy and remember fondly.
Becoming a proficient artist is equal parts dedication, sweat, frustration and, ultimately, satisfaction that you've created something unique and personal, and attention to both the dry, technical stuff is just as important as getting messy and having fun. If you think I might be a good fit for you or your child, please shoot me an e-mail and I will be more than glad to provide examples of some of my work. Thanks in advance for your consideration!
