Chinese

I have passion for teaching and tutoring. I hold a BA in English from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in China and a Master degree in MIS (Management Information Systems) from University of Texas in Dallas, Texas. I am a Chinese instructor at a community college.

After graduation I had worked as an English Instructor teaching English to freshmen and sophomores majoring in Science at Southeast University in Nanjing, China for 3.5 years before I moved to the United States. I am an excellent substitute teacher at a local school, and I received high recognition for my teaching there.

I taught Chinese to students from 7 year-old children, high school students, college students to business professionals in the areas of listening, speaking, reading and writing. I tutor students with curriculum tailored to their individual language levels, specific needs and learning styles. I offer Chinese lessons at all levels, from beginner Chinese, intermediate Chinese to advanced Chinese as well as Chinese for Business. My undergraduate major is English, I know the difference between the two languages and I know the common mistakes students make when English-speaking students learn Chinese and the challenges they face. I can help them reach their goal.

I had worked as an IT professional for over 14 years after I received my MS in MIS from University of Texas at Dallas, Texas. My business-professional students told me that my business background had helped them in their communications with their Chinese business partners and Chinese people. I have a desire to maximize the learning potential of students. I always follow up with students on how my tutoring helps them and adjust my tutoring methods accordingly. I am a very dedicated and effective tutor, I am pretty sure that you will be happy with the tutoring services I provide. Xiexie!
