Though I may be young, I believe that it is through hard work and unyielding fortitude that will let a person accomplish their goals. I graduated four years ago from the University of Notre Dame's School of Architecture
, with minors in Theology and Furniture Design. Since that time, I have had a myriad of experience working in fields ranging from food service, education, design work, independent contracting, etc.
I spent two years teaching at Boston College High School on subjects related to art
while I completed graduate work at Boston College. Prior to that, I worked at Regis Jesuit High School in Denver. Though I have the most experience teaching and working with students of middle and high school ages, I was an all-around good student in both high school and college and am comfortable in many areas.
Currently, I am an intern architect and am working toward my professional license. I am a driven and conscientious worker, detail-oriented and methodical. Thus, I will bring the same level of service to my tutoring.
In my experience, I find that no two people will learn the same way as I did or another has. The best way to tutor is to explain to students the reason for their learning. I think that when students lose sight of the big picture and try instead engage in rote memorization, they become disinterested and disillusioned, and as a result, they learn less and do not perform as well. Even in high school, I saw students slowly go through the motions of regurgitation rather than critically engaging themselves.
I promise that I will be try my best to make learning engaging and important for students. If you are interested, please contact me!
