My life has been filled with a long-standing love affair with Mathematics and an intense desire to share that love with others. I currently hold a preliminary license in Mathematics 6-8 and 8-12 and am completed coursework for an initial licensure with an expected completion date of May 2014. Additionally, I have taken graduate coursework in Geometry for Teachers, Classroom Diversity, Classroom Management and have tutored in middle and high schools. I am a full time teaching fellow at a high school for 9th graders.
I will consult with you/the student to determine the type of tutoring that best suits your needs. Whether it's remedial, extension or support tutoring, together we will create goals and a plan to improve fluency. I encourage my students to network concepts, solving problems through multiple methods and across various areas of Mathematics. I can adapt lesson plans to any type of learner and enjoy the challenge of creating problems and situations the engage each individual student.
My hope is that students learn flexibility in my classroom and gain confidence not only in solving the types of problems we address together, but in being able to solve new problems with their skills.
Almost daily I am reminded of the beauty and art of Mathematics and very much enjoy sharing that love with my students.
