I specialize in MCAT tutoring. Having taken the MCAT myself in 2013, I remain familiar with just about everything you need to know to do well on the MCAT. I can advise you about what is going to be tested on the 2014 or early 2015 MCAT exam, and how to best prepare for it. While I was studying for the exam, I thoroughly studied nearly all questions in most of the MCAT prep books, like Examkrackers, The Berkeley Review, AAMC Practice Tests and Self Assessments, and The Princeton Review's Verbal Workbook. I would be happy to help you out with any of those question or passages, as well as, any others. I also offer guided study plans for students starting from scratch.

To provide you with a little history about myself, I've had a lot of experience tutoring. In fact, I've tutored my peers ever since childhood. I've always had a talent and passion for science and math, and enjoyed teaching others. In high school, I was credited with helping several peers dubbed as "C-students" make their way to getting A's in Algebra and Chemistry. I continued tutoring students off and on throughout college. Several years ago, I graduated from Northeastern University's Honors Program cum laude, with a double major and minor. And as mentioned above, took the MCAT in 2013 with excellent results.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

MCAT

I took the MCAT on August 16th, 2013 and scored above the 95th percentile in all science sections. I am familiar with most of the popular MCAT prep books, and have taken the time to fully understand the most challenging questions on most test prep material.

Organic Chemistry

Organic chemistry has always been one of my stronger subjects. Throughout college I've tutored many of my peers and participated in several study groups. I have an A average in all organic chemistry classes I've taken. And just recently, I scored in the 95th percentile on the MCAT's (Medical College Admissions Test) biological sciences section which consists solely of biology and organic chemistry.

Physics

Physics is my all time favorite subject. I have successfully taught full courses in physics, and have had many students tell me that I was one of the best science instructors they've had. I like to make physics interesting by using real life examples and quick videos of equipment like levitated trains, Faraday cages, rail guns, geographic phenomena like floating in the Dead Sea, and other things to make what I teach memorable. I've had several students say that physics was their worst subject and now it is their best subject.

I truly enjoy teaching physics and may be publishing a book about non-calculus based MCAT physics soon.

EDIT: On a trial basis, I am offering a judgement-free cram sessions and crash courses in MCAT physics. I believe that this is the best last minute prep available in this subject. E-mail me for details.

Very knowledgeable with highest priority in helping her students — Kris had been working with my daughter for the past couple months. Initially I approached Kris to tutor my daughter in MCAT preparation. However, Kris went beyond MCAT training, and spent considerable amount of time and effort in educating me, my husband, and my daughter in the whole med school application process and how to prioritize various components of the application process. She has sent me ...
