My craft saga began early with my grandmother teaching me to crochet around age 9. I had some clothing construction experience in 4-H growing up, but it was not until college that I really developed into the crafter and maker that I am today. I took up knitting and eventually moved into other fiber crafts such as sewing, felting, cross stitch, and embroidery. While I enjoy working with new fabric and yarn, my craft passion is for repurposing material and items. In terms of my teaching philosophy, it is very simple - student-directed learning. I begin by helping students build a strong foundation in understanding how to use the tools properly and then guide students through a project at an appropriate level for their skills. Currently, I teach knitting and machine sewing at a yarn and fabric shop in Dorchester.
