As an educator, I've dedicated my time and service to creating learning opportunities and post-graduate experiences for the students with whom I've worked. It is extremely important to me to be able to make a difference in the lives of students and set them on a path to become successful young adults and positive contributors to society. I am also a strong believer in challenging my students, making them critical thinkers and motivating them to improve academically, set personal goals and aspirations, and actively participate in their education. As a college counselor I am able to create an environment that guides students throughout their educational endeavors and into the discovery of their future. Using a student-centered counseling approach I hope to provide individualized counseling sessions that promote academic achievement, social development and college readiness.

My education, experience and training at both the high school and college level provide me with a strong and unique background in college admissions, academic advisement and career counseling. I've advised students regarding academics, their future career choices, college majors, general interests and everything in between. At the university level, my experience includes undergraduate admissions, peer mentoring services and academic advisement for undeclared liberal arts majors. Throughout my time working in different settings, I’ve developed a broad understanding of the college transition process from both the high school and college student experiences.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

College Counseling

While completing my Master’s in School Counseling, I had an opportunity to intern with the guidance department at a local high school, a Boston Public School, in Charlestown, MA. Here, I became well versed in the college application process and advised students and parents along the way. In addition to my School Counseling internship, I have worked in the college admissions offices at Northeastern University and the Universality of New Hampshire. I have been able to learn the intricacies of what colleges are looking for and how to highlight students' best qualities during the application process. Last year, I worked as a College Counselor with the Harlem Children's Zone, helping many students gain admissions to colleges across the U.S., including University of Pennsylvania, St. Michael's University, Providence College, Fordham University, University of Albany, Occidental College and many more. My education, experience and training at both the high school and college level provide me with a strong and unique background in college admissions, academic advisement and career counseling. I've advised students regarding academics, their future career choices, college majors, general interests and everything in between.
